Adolescent Inpatient Acute Care

Our teen counseling and behavioral health services at The Meadows helps to meet the needs of adolescents who are experiencing difficulties with relationships and/or behaviors at home, school or within their peer groups.

A compassionate staff provides a supportive, nurturing and structured environment for each teenager. No two people are the same, and the individual needs of each teenager are recognized and are the basis for that plan of treatment in order to best identify.

Our acute inpatient mental health services emphasize the sense of community and strengths of each individual. Peer support and feedback help individuals learn to respect themselves and each other. The various group and school activities provide individuals with opportunities for social interaction and cooperation.

In addition to the features above, this program also includes:

  • Ongoing feedback and patient teaching to encourage and reward age-appropriate responsibility and behaviors
  • Tutorial education during hospitalization; collaboration with home school district. Mental health is important, and so is your loved one’s education.
  • Individual and parent involvement in discharge planning directed toward ongoing recovery. You are a part of this, too, and we recognize that.

All programs led by our multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, therapists and other clinicians include the following:

  • 24-hour supervision by licensed nurses and physicians
  • Comprehensive initial assessment and evaluation of emotional, intellectual, social and physical needs
  • Strength-based approach during assessment and treatment
  • Individual, group and family therapy service

We are here to help you and your loved one with acute care for mental health disorders.

Your teen’s issues are not uncommon, and you are not alone.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say that child and adolescent mental health problems are quite common, with:

  • 6.1 million have received an ADHD diagnosis
  • 4.5 million have a diagnosed behavior problem
  • 4.4 million have diagnosed anxiety
  • 1.9 million have diagnosed depression

The most important finding from the CDC, however, is that early diagnosis and mental health services designed for their age make a massive difference in the lives of adolescents with mental health disorders. Don’t wait to reach out for help, because every second counts.

Our adolescent mental health programs are designed to meet your loved one where they are and help get them to where they need to be – with the tools and skills necessary to live a healthier, happier life after treatment. Teenage inpatient treatment at a residential facility can provide a structured treatment program that targets specific mental illnesses and disorders to get to the root of the problem rather than just treating the symptoms.

One of our goals is to educate both you and your teen on the issues affecting them and the best way to move forward when their time at our residential program is over. With discharge planning designed around assisting your child in readjusting to a healthier lifestyle, their journey does not end once they walk out the door. Lifetime recovery is important, and they will be presented with the tools and skills necessary at our nurturing and caring adolescent psychiatric facility to work towards that goal.
