Treatment Programs and Services

The Meadows Psychiatric Center is located on a beautiful 52-acre campus in a valley of gently rolling farmland, minutes outside State College in Central Pennsylvania. The quiet, peaceful, rural setting provides a calming environment that is very conducive to recovery. Recently updated rooms, community spaces and recreational areas are designed for comfort and safety for a holistic approach to treatment. As an integrated behavioral health care delivery system, The Meadows provides comprehensive services to children, adolescents, adults and older adults. Treatment is based on age-appropriate care.

The Meadows is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and is also accredited by The Joint Commission.

Acute Inpatient Programs

Acute inpatient programs offer intensive care to children, adolescents and adults. It is designed to help patients stabilize from acute symptoms of a mental health disorder. Treatment takes place in a consistent and nurturing environment with 24-hour supervision by licensed nurses and physicians. The goal is to enhance patients’ coping skills so they may return home or to a lower level of care as quickly as possible.

The Meadows is committed to providing individuals and their families the hope of recovery through an environment conducive to wellness, strength-based programming and highly competent staff. Treatment at The Meadows is individualized, person centered, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented.
